Some dogs need a little more time to feel comfortable in a new environment. Whether your dog is cautious, easily overwhelmed, unsure around other dogs, or simply slow to warm up, we’ll help them settle in at their own pace.

Daycare at Their Pace — Not Ours
A shy dog doesn’t need to walk in ready for a full day of group play. We start with what your dog can comfortably handle and build from there.
1. Start With One Dog
Rather than introducing your dog to an entire playgroup, we first see how they feel meeting one carefully selected dog. This gives us a chance to see what they’re comfortable with.
4. Begin With Short Group Time
When your dog seems ready, we may start with about an hour in a carefully matched playgroup. This lets them experience group play without asking too much too soon.
2. Give Them Space
If one new dog is still too much, they can settle into our Shy Dog Room, get comfortable with our team, and build confidence without group pressure.
5. Build Up Gradually
As your dog becomes more comfortable, we can increase their group time from an hour to two and eventually longer. Their confidence determines how quickly we move forward.
3. Recommend Quieter Days
When possible, we’ll recommend days with fewer dogs, giving your dog a calmer environment to explore, adjust, and take those first social steps.
6. Suggest Half Days If Needed
For dogs who find daycare especially stressful, we may suggest half days at first. Shorter visits can help them adjust without becoming overwhelmed.
