REACTIVE ROVER
WALK AND TRAIN
Are walks with your dog a struggle? Training walks are designed to help your dog walk nicely on a loose leash. During these walks, I will also teach and reinforce related skills such as checking in with you, sitting at crosswalks, “leave it” and “wait” for safe and enjoyable walks for you both.

Acting hyperactive
Scenario: Your dog is constantly moving, running and jumping, etc. She also has a lot of difficulty settling down or focusing on one thing at a time.
Solution – Silver Package: During our three forty-five-minute sessions, we’ll teach your dog first, how to focus on you. Then how to focus on other activities. We will also teach them how to settle down and stay in one place. In addition, you will benefit from access to our How Dogs Learn, Body Language, and Canine Hygiene webinars. Finally, your dog will enjoy one thirty-minute Walk & Train experience with feedback to you from the trainer on how to enrich your walks.
Begging for food
Scenario: Whenever anyone has food, your dog is practically on top of them staring, salivating and even whining/barking. Sometimes she even tries to reach and take the food herself.
Solution – Bronze Package: During our three forty-five-minute sessions, we’ll teach your dog first, how to focus on you. We will also teach them how to settle down and stay in one place. Finally, we will teach them to stay in one place whenever food is being eaten or prepared.
Chasing moving objects
Scenario: Your dog is like a rocket at takeoff whenever your cat runs by in the living room. Or she goes 0-100 when you’re on a walk and a squirrel jumps down from a tree or a bird takes off from the sidewalk.
Solution – Silver Dog Training Package: During our three forty-five-minute sessions, we’ll teach your dog first, how to focus on you. We will also teach them how to settle down and stay in one place. Then we
will use those skills to work on being near these animals and resisting the urge to chase. In addition, you will benefit from access to our How Dogs Learn, Body Language and Canine Hygiene webinars. Finally, your dog will enjoy one thirty-minute Walk & Train experience with feedback to you from the trainer on how to enrich your walks.
Destroying belongings
Scenario: Your dog has chewed up so many of your things, like shoes, remote controls, eyeglasses, socks, and more. She’s also chewed on your carpet, the screen door, or even the wooden door frame.
Solution – Bronze Dog Training Package: During our three one-hour sessions, we’ll get to work immediately to stop the destruction. First will be creating a customized plan to keep valuable items away from your dog. We’ll teach your dog what they should not chew, and a cue to stop when they start. We’ll also discuss and plan which great things for them to chew instead. We will evaluate the potential for anxiety being
at the root of the issue and suggest what to do next if that is the case. We’ll set up good ways to exercise your dog’s mind and body which will help stop the chewing as well as keep them healthy. Finally, we’ll take a look ather daily activities to see where we can add in mental enrichment and fun.
Ignoring Commands
Scenario: Your dog will not come when you call them outside. They do great in the house, just not outside.
Solution – Bronze Dog Training Package: During our three one-hour sessions we will teach an efficient recall method and begin practicing it in a safe way. As your dog learns, we will increase the difficulty
by adding more distractions (and changing locations) while still maintaining safety.
Avoiding or fearing people
Scenario: Your dog moves away from new people and won’t make eye contact. She may sometimes even bark or growl at people when they approach.
Solution – Gold Package: During our four sixty-minute sessions we will start by teaching your dog that people aren’t a threat. We’ll move from there into teaching that interacting with people is rewarding and pleasant. All along we’ll put into place skills that will allow you to understand your dogs’ behaviors and how to give your dog choices when it comes to interacting with people. In addition, you will

Being shy/timid
Scenario: Your dog hides behind you, runs away, or hides behind things whenever someone new approaches them.
Solution – Gold Package: During our four sixty-minute sessions we will start by teaching your dog that people aren’t a threat. We’ll move from there into teaching that interacting with people is rewarding and pleasant. All along we’ll put into place skills that will allow you to understand your dogs’ behaviors and how to give your dog choices when it comes to interacting with people. In addition, you will benefit from access to our How Dogs Learn, Body Language and Canine Hygiene webinars. Finally, your dog will enjoy four thirty-minute Walk & Train experience with feedback to you from the trainer on how to enrich your walks.

Digging and/or Escaping Yard
Scenario: You can’t leave your dog in the yard for a minute without them escaping or digging up everything.
Solution – Bronze Dog Training Package: During our three one-hour sessions, we’ll get to work immediately to stop the behavior by assessing the areas that your dog escapes from and/or digs in. We’ll go over how to block the escape routes and discourage the digging. Finally, we’ll take a look at your dog’s daily schedule and add some mental and/or physical enrichment to redirect their energy in positive ways.
Jumping on people/items
Scenario: Your sweet fur baby loves everyone so much that they jump on people whenever they see them. To make it worse, they jump on the counter and eat things they find there!
Solution – Silver Dog Training Package: During our three forty-five-minute sessions, we’ll teach your dog first, how to focus on you as well as the ‘Off’ cue. We will then teach them how to settle down and
stay in one place. Then we will use those skills to work on being near people and not jumping. Barging through doors
Scenario: Your dog gets excited and will push through anything and anyone as soon as a door is open.
Solution – Silver package: During our three forty-five-minute sessions, we’ll teach your dog first, how to focus on you. We will also teach them how to settle down and stay in one place. Finally, we will work on entering and exiting various types of spaces. In addition, you will benefit from access to our How Dogs Learn and Canine Hygiene webinars. Biting, nipping, mouthing
Scenario: Your puppy bites hard and sometimes pulls and breaks the skin. She will jump at you when you walk by to you’re your pants or shoelaces. Puppies are especially prone to these behaviors and their teeth are extra sharp.
Solution – Diamond Package: During our five ninety-minute sessions we will start with teaching your dog focus, which is the basis for teaching them impulse control. We will also teach a cue to stop doing the biting behavior (as well as other behaviors). We will then move on to teach a variety of useful and fun behaviors to build on your communications with your dog and their understanding of the rules of living in
the dog/human world. In addition, you will benefit from access to our Body Language, How Dogs Learn and Canine Hygiene webinars. Also, your dog will enjoy six thirty-minute Walk & Train experiences with feedback to you from the trainer on how to enrich your walks. Finally you will receive one follow-up session (to use within twelve months) and tools to further your training (Harness Leash, Dog treat bag and Training vest).
Climbing on furniture
Scenario: Climbing on furniture You love your little fur baby, but you don’t want her to get on your furniture. It seems nearly impossible to keep her off though.
Solution – Gold Dog Training Package: During our four sixty-minute sessions, we’ll teach your dog first, how to focus on you. This is the basis for teaching impulse control. We will teach ‘off’, how to stay off, and how to get your attention in a positive way. We will also work on teaching your dog where they should go to rest and still spend time near you. Eating feces (poop)
Scenario: Your dog sometimes eats dog feces. Yes, she’s a poop eater. Even though it it isn’t a behavior that occurs because of ‘bad dog parenting’ it is concerning as far as her health and can be embarassing for you.
Solution – Bronze Package: During our three one-hour sessions, we’ll get to work immediately to stop the behavior. First will be creating a customized plan to keep your dog from having opportunities to eat feces. We’ll also teach a cue to stop when they are about to. We’ll also discuss options for supplements and deterrents. Finally, we’ll take a look at your dog’s daily activities to see where we can add in
mental enrichment and fun, which will help reduce the opportunities for eating feces.
Pulling on the Leash
Scenario: Walks with your dog are not fun at all. They pull you and cross in front of you. You’ve nearly fallen! Sometimes they even pull toward, and bark at other dogs and people.
Solution – Gold Dog Training Package: We will jump right in during the first of our four sixty-minute sessions with your trainer taking a walk with you and your dog. We’ll then create a customized plan for

Barking or howling
Scenario: At home, any time your dog sees or hears anything from outside she barks intensely and takes a long time to stop. When you are outside she barks every time she sees another dog or person that she wants to meet.
Solution – Gold Package: During our four sixty-minute sessions we will start by creating a cue for stopping your dog when they’re barking. We’ll move from there into teaching them other things to do when they see a dog or person instead. All along we’ll put into place skills that will allow you to better understand your dogs’ behavior. Bringing home a new baby
Scenario: You aren’t sure how your dog will react to the baby and you want to help them make the transition smoothly.
Solution – Gold Dog Training Package: During our four sixty-minute sessions we start with a look at your lifestyle and your dog’s personality. From there we’ll create a customized plan for everything from
introducing the baby to your dog to how to manage the baby items (ie. keep your dog from taking them). Our final session will happen when the baby is several months old and we’ll discuss how things are going and give you more skills for keeping things safe and happy now that they are mobile. Clinging behavior
Scenario: The term ‘velcro dog’ doesn’t even come close to describing your dog. She has to be right next to you all the time. If she isn’t she sometimes cries and barks.
Solution – Diamond Dog Training Package: During our five ninety-minute sessions we will start with determining how far and how long you can be away from your dog before the crying and barking begins. We
will then follow a customized plan to gradually increase barks. the distance and time, while assuring your dog that you will always return. We will also teach a variety of useful and fun behaviors to build your dog’s confidence and ability to relax when you are gone. Potty/house training
Scenario: Your dog still has accidents in the house.
Solution – Bronze Dog Training Package: During our three one-hour sessions, we’ll get to work immediately to stop the behavior by putting in action a potty plan that won’t require taking your dog out
constantly. We’ll go over how to clean up accidents so that your dog won’t be attracted to them to potty again. We’ll also teach your dog a cue to let you know when they need to go. Finally, we’ll take a look at your dog’s feeding schedule, where they stay when you aren’t home and the potty area outside and make adjustments if needed.
Reactivity or aggression
Scenario: Your dog barks, lunges, and nips near any strangers or dogs they don’t know.
Solution – Diamond Dog Training Package: During our five ninety-minute sessions we will start with determining the root of your dog’s behavior as well as how far away from another person/dog your dog can be
before the behavior begins. We will then create a customized plan to gradually desensitize your dog to strangers/unknown dogs. As you put the plan into action we will have sessions to help and answer any
questions that come up. We will also teach a variety of useful and fun behaviors to build your dog’s confidence and ability to relax overall.
