RV: Pet-Friendly Version

RVs are great for long road trips. Instead of getting stuck in a cramped car for hours, you and your companions can stretch out and get comfortable inside one.

Traveling inside an RV is also highly recommended if you intend to bring your cat and/or dog along for your trip. With the amount of space available inside, your pets should be able to relax better.

However, not all RVs are made equal. Some of them are less suitable for pets than others.

In this article, we’ll highlight the features you need to look for if you want to purchase a pet-friendly one. Keep reading so you can get a new vehicle that your pet will surely like.

Functioning Air Conditioners

Being trapped inside a warm RV for hours is going to take a toll on your pet. Rolling the windows down may not be enough to cool off your pet. That can also be dangerous as all kinds of things could come flying through the window.

You will need a functional air conditioning system inside the RV to keep your pet comfortable. Make sure that it is providing plenty of cool air so your pet will be able to relax.

RV Vents That Will Not Injure Your Pet

While inspecting the RV, you should take a moment to check where its vents are located. Your pet could get their claws stuck in one of the vents while they are walking around. If that happens, one of their claws could break off.

The RV you’re buying should have vents that will not get in the way of your pets. RVs with vents mounted on the walls instead of the floor would be ideal.

Space for Crates or Built-In Crates

You should have crates available inside your RV so your pets don’t distract you while you are driving.

Some RVs already have built-in crates. If you intend to use those crates, take the time to check if your pets can fit comfortably inside them.

Don’t worry if you cannot find an RV with built-in crates. As long as you have enough space available, you can still place your pet’s crate in the RV so it is always ready.

What Should I Do if I Cannot Afford a Pet-Friendly RV?

Is buying a new pet-friendly RV currently not an option for you? In that case, you should look to rent one instead.
